THIS BUILDING IS THE LARGEST MEMORIAL IN THE UNITED STATES DEDICATED SOLELY TO HONORING ALL BRANCHES OF MILITARY VETERANS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL. ORIGINALLY CONCEIVED TO HONOR CIVIL WAR VETERANS.
