THIS MEMORIAL WAS BUILT BY O.P. SINE OF GARFIELD POST NO 2 OF THE GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC. MOST G.A.R. MEMORIALS ARE BUILT IN COURTHOUSE SQUARES, BUT IN KENTUCKY THE ONLY TWO MEMORIALS ARE IN CEMETERIES.
