THIS REGIMENT FORMED LINE OF BATTLE HERE AT 11AM, APRIL 6, 1862, BUT WAS SOON DRIVEN BACK TO THE RAVINE IN THE REAR. LT.COL. BARTON S. KYLE WAS KILLED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO RALLY THE REGIMENT.
