GENERAL FRANCIS HERRON MEMORIAL BRIDGE
GENERAL HERRON WAS AWARDED THE MEDAL OF HONOR FOR HEROISM AT THE BATTLE OF PEA RIDGE IN MARCH 1862. HE LED A DIVISION AT VICKSBURG AND HAD COMMANDS MOSTLY WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI. HE BECAME A MAJOR GENERAL AT AGE 26.
